3/29/05 Tesla, Zakk Wylde & Silvertide

It has bee a busy 8 days. Screamin’ Scott & I got to go to the WRIF, Tesla soundcheck party at the ROMT. Tesla is one of those bands that is so talented, it’s fun to just watch them noodle around and rehearse. I did sit down and talk with Tommy Skeoch, who does very few interviews. He will be my featured quest on the April 10th addition of the Chop Shop at 9am.
This last weekend I got to see my old pal Zakk Wylde. Zakk’s Black Label Society played Harpo's, and I joined the big "Viking" on the tour bus for a half hour conversation. Anyone who has ever met Zakk will attest, he ALWAYS says exactly what is on his mind. Zakk will be on the Chop Shop the fowling week, April 17th.
I’ll end this by saying if you have not seen Silvertide yet, you are missing the future of Rock & Roll! What a complete band, talent, heart, personality, and great SONGS! Silvertide played in Flint on Saturday and I-Rock on Sunday. It is always great to see guys. If your not too familiar with them go to the WRIF digital store and download a couple of songs for .99 cents each.
Black Out.

3/20/05 Florida & Steve Vai

Sabrina & I just returned from Florida on Thursday evening. Wow was it nice to see the sun and go swimming.
While we were visiting the other Peninsula State, we drove down to Miami to see Steve Vai.
He was his usual freak of nature amazing self. The show included a few acoustic songs this time around. In all the times I’ve see Mr. Vai it was the first time I’ve seen him play "The Boy/Girl Song". Other highlights on the set list were "The Audience is Listening" and "The Reaper" from the Bill & Ted soundtrack.
If you love guitar and want to be entertained, you have to check out the Detroit show on April 8th at the Royal Oak Music Theatre.
More in a day or 2.

3/12/05 Road Trip & Salute

Sabrina (my awesome wife) & I are buzzing down to Florida this upcoming week. Our good friends Marshall & Patty gave us a place to stay near Boca Raton. It will be nice to see a dash of sunshine.
While we are in south Florida, we are going to see Steve Vai. It just so happens that he is playing in Miami that week. So Vai fans can check the Black Blog for an update of what to expect at the Detroit show.
It also looks like I may be adding an interview section to Extreme Detroit Magazine. I will also have details on that when I return.
I want to wrap up with a salute to all the men & women in harms way overseas. We here at the RIF have always gone above & beyond for the military, but now I have a brother in law, serving in the Marine Corps in Iraq.
Be safe Tony! And keep others safe as well.

Black out.
