Playoff time in the D.
Here are my Stanley Cup playoff predictions.
First round West: Detroit vs. Edmonton – Red Wings should win in 5.
Dallas vs. Colorado – Dallas has been solid all season. They are a good mix of veterans and youngsters with exceptional goaltending. Stars in 6.
Calgary vs. Anaheim – The Ducks are an up and coming team with talent, but Calgary is too good and too deep. Flames in 6.
San Jose vs. Nashville – Props to the Preds on a fine season….now go home. San Jose is a good team with good leadership. Sharks in 5.
First round East: Ottawa vs. Tampa Bay – Ottawa might be the most talented team in the league. Sens in 5.
Carolina vs. Montreal – What a season for the Hurricanes, I can think of 10 reasons why they should win this series, and only 1 reason the Habs will win, Cristobal Huet. Canadians in 7.
New Jersey vs. New York – The Rangers have been awful the last 6 games, the Devils have been on fire….pun intended. Devils in 6.
Buffalo vs. Philadelphia – The best series of the first round. I like Buffalo, but Philly’s is a scary team. I’m picking Buffalo due to the their team concept, and heart. Sabers in 7.
Second Round West: Detroit vs. San Jose – Detroit was the best team all season, watch them roll. Red Wings in 6.
Dallas vs. Calgary – I’m going out on a limb and taking Turco over Kiprusoff. It’s just a gut feeling. Stars in 7.
Second Round East: Ottawa vs. Montreal – IF Hasek is back and playing like he can….Ottawa is unstoppable, even without him the Senators are too talented. Ottawa in 7.
New Jersey vs. Buffalo – Another great series, bet on Brodeur. Devils in 7.
Finals West: Detroit vs. Dallas: Detroit is so deep, at every position, and their dept should keep them fresh. Red Wings in 6.
Finals East: IF Hasek is healthy and rolling, the best goaltender in the world on a talented team like Ottawa will go to and WIN the Stanley Cup. I’m betting Hasek won’t be 100%. Devils in 7.
Stanley Cup Finals: Detroit vs. New Jersey – I always question my objectivity when I pick the home team, but Lidstrom, Yzerman, Shanahan, Homer and Draper will remember the last time Detroit played N.J. for the cup. Add Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Schneider, Kronwell and the list goes on and on. Red Wings in 6.
