Getting back to life
There are still a lot of ups and downs as I try to get used to life without my wife Sabrina who died almost 3 weeks ago.
I was on the air Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday for Arthur P. It felt really good and helped me a lot to be back on the radio. Sabrina asked me to "Always remember how much you love being on the air, and music" and said that it would help me get by….what a smart woman!
Last night I went to the Rob Zombie soundcheck. I went up on stage and recorded an interview with his guitarist John5 (pictured) that will air in the Chop Shop in a couple of weeks. It felt good to reconnect with John, but I couldn’t stick for the show, I was the host of the WRIF/Miller Lite, Red Wings V.I.P. party at the Joe. Our grand prizewinner was Erin Hanes, she got $4000 dollars and $1000 gift certificate to Hockeytown Authentics. All of our winners got free dinner and tickets to the game. Detroit won 6-5 in a shoot out bay the way.
Tonight, I’ll be back in charge of "Amped on the 80s" so give me a call.
Sunday I’ll be at the Satriani, Eric Johnson show at the State, and next Friday Joe’s old bass player Stu Hamm will be at the Magic Bag so I’ll see you around town.
All the best, Black
