Music Mentors

















Wednesday evening was the first day of guitar lessons for a group of kids at Gilda’s Club in Royal Oak. I work with a charity group called "Music Mentors", together with the Detroit Blues society, we were able to help out some kids who’s lives have been touched by cancer.

Guilda’s Club is a wonderful place that provides lots of opportunities to anyone who has been affected by cancer, weather the disease has affected you one of your parents, siblings or spouse, Gilda’s club gives you a chance to learn, live and interact with others in your situation.

Music Mentors is focusing on teaching kids about music and positive effects music has on our lives. From teaching the technical side of recording to guitar lessons for first timers!

The Detroit Blues Society provided the guitars to the kids.

Gordie O’Shea from "Spider in a Jar" is our volunteer guitar instructor.

As you can see the kids enjoyed their free guitars, and free lesson, the first in a series of 10.
